Oh.Em.Gee. If you, like me, thought the Zac Brown Band CMA performance with Dave Grohl was epic, I have some good news. They made a record. And it comes out next week on iTunes. Consider it an early Christmas present, The Grohl Sessions: Vol. 1 is coming out on the Zac Brown Band's Southern Ground Artists label. And the fact that it's just Volume 1 means that there could be more. A whole lot more. Get a behind the scenes peek at the making of the album in the video below.
And if you missed that CMA perfomance:
I saw an article on the homepage today about Carrie Underwood doing parodies of songs with Jimmy Fallon on his show. Of course, it was hilarious and it reminded me of way back when I first started watching SNL in middle school and my infatuation with Jimmy began. Since we're only a few months away from the Winter Olympics, I thought it would be fun to find the video of Jimmy doing his Olympic parody songs from Weekend Update. It seems you can find quality video of every parody song but the one I was looking for. But I did find this poorly synced one, at least the audio is good!
It would be an understatement to say that Kacey Musgraves has had a pretty good year. Touring with Kenny Chesney, being one of Perez Hilton's new favorites, releasing her major label debut, winning CMA New Artist of the Year and an Austin City Limits taping are just a few of the awesome milestones she's hit this year. I've been a fan of Kacey, way back to her self titled album, so it's awesome to see all of this success. Good news is we can expect new music, including a few songs she co-wrote with Katy Perry (according to recent Rolling Stone interview) and she'll be hitting the road with Lady Antebellum. Looks like her arrow's heading towards the right target.
Speaking of Katy Perry, I'm sure you're wondering how that came about. Katy is a fan of Kacey and had her perform at a recent benefit concert featuring a few other badass ladies. So you can only bet there was some great jamming and writing happening after that fun show.
